The Wherry Hotel
The Broads is a man-made location and has evolved over the last 2,000 years. During Roman times, much of the area of the Broads was under the sea. In the dark ages, peat deposits were being dug from the area and used for fuel. During medieval times, the peat pits began to flood and the Broads began to form. Eventually the peat diggings were abandoned to the flooding.
From these inauspicious beginnings, situated on the shores of Oulton Broad, the Wherry Hotel offers comfort, friendly service and exceptional views over the Broad. As a business venue, or a place to enjoy a relaxing stay, the Hotel offers traditional hospitality and charm.
There are two bars, both overlooking the Broad, a perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks while chef and his team prepare a choice menu, and to complement your meal there is a wide selection of fine wines and real ales.
